2 slums fight over puja in Beleghata, several including cops injured

A clash broke out between two slums in Beleghata's Ward No. 33 over the celebration of Shitla Puja. Several people were injured in the incident. According to the residents of Slum No. 95, during the puja, people from neighboring Slum No. 91 suddenly attacked them, which led to the conflict. The police arrived and were able to bring the situation under control.

Slum No. 95 and Slum No. 91, both located in Beleghata's Ward No. 33, were celebrating the Shitla Puja. At midnight, residents of Slum No. 95 claimed that people from Slum No. 91 attacked them while they were performing the puja and committed vandalism. They demanded to know why they were performing puja in their area, which led to a quarrel between the two groups.

The police reached the spot and tried to control the situation, but the area was so heated that some individuals allegedly threw bricks at the police, injuring two officers. The police then arrested some people from both groups.

A local resident expressed frustration, stating that the neighboring slum creates trouble every time they celebrate a puja and the police always end up taking them away. The conflict was apparently over the noise level of the music being played during the puja. The resident added that the people from Slum No. 91 were unhappy with the level of noise and asked them to reduce it.
